Format of the common app essay: The word limit varies, depending on the guidelines of the colleges. You must aim for 500-600 words when writing a common app essay. It is best to write a common app essay in word or google documents. Avoid unprofessional things like hashtags and smiley faces. As you finish your essay, go back to it and edit it.
