Most use a method which does not require the Tasker preferences "allow external access" to be checked. But some do require that. I have time triggered profiles which are working fine every time. For example set the wifi on at the morning. I have profiles from the Tasker wiki to tun on wifi when I am at home, however if my screen is off for a longer time they are not working.
