Looks like you can do it directly w/o Smartthings with an Apple Watch and the August app. If the Samsung watch supports the August or IFTTT app you can give those a shot. I have the series 3 Apple Watch and it told me to activate by logging into the my q app on my phone so I did but then it says I have no devices connect to my account when I do so I'm confused. I'm try closing the app several times and it's just stuck on the screen saying that I have no devices and there's no options to do anything with it.
