My Chrome Apps Page Disappeared. Glory Hallelujah!! I just ran CCleaner and cleaned out some stuff, and now, somehow, Google Chrome & Google Chrome 2 have been fully restored! Before closing this thread, I would like for someone to explain to me exactly how I lost Chrome to begin with and how running CCleaner was able to bring it back. My personalized desktop suddenly disappeared a few days ago. I was doing nothing unusual when it changed to a format I am totally unfamiliar with. All of my icons are gone except for my icons in the taskbar. This changed desktop is very strange. As you might have detected, I don't know much about Windows 10. I wish I could go back to Windows 7. My bookmarks just disappeared within the last hour. I did not delete them and they are all gone. I never sign into google, I just use the browser and now every bookmark (100s of them) are gone. I did look in AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default and I have a 'bookmarks' file.

If I right-click on the app launcher, and hit pin to task bar, it changes the launcher icon to the chrome logo. When I reboot the second chrome logo is gone. Everything I do causes the launcher to disappear. How do I keep it on my task bar? Does the fact that I have the apps listed by default on my Google home page cause a conflict? Thanks,

And it usually happens when I launch Chrome, and through variables I don't quite understand, the instance of Chrome gets messed-up. It doesn't save history, and all the bookmark favicons are gone. Exiting Chrome, looking through the Task Manager (ctrl+alt+delete), ending all "chrome.exe" processes, and launching Chrome again usually fixes it. The Apps shortcut should now be on the far left of your bookmarks bar. Whenever you need an app just click that icon and Chrome will open a new tab at chrome://apps where all your Chrome apps are. Seems my issue is actually quite a bit more similar (than I previously realised) to yours. Update: Windows Update broke 4 of my apps. I just noticed this on my Start Menu. I didn't realise the other 2 (Comms and People) were broken as well, because I never use them.
