My Chevrolet App Vehicle Compatibility. The app was launched in the 2010 and was initially branded as OnStar MyLink. In order to not be confused with the upcoming Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, MyLink was rebranded to RemoteLink. Well my free trial ended back in February but I still had access to the vehicle status part of the app until I think April, after than it stopped and said, "Upgrade Now." So I called OnStar and they told me the same thing they told you, vehicle status is only available on paid plans, the basic plan only provides access to the key fob functions. The list can be used (if your vehicle is on it), to know in advance if you can buy an ELM interface and whether it will work with your vehicle. The second piece of useful information is the "level" of implementation of the standard. In general, the more recent your vehicle, the more diagnoses you can do on it.
