Install Hangouts Chat App. To answer classic Hangouts right from your desktop, install the classic Hangouts chrome extension. The classic Hangouts icon will appear in the top right of your Chrome browser. When you get a chat, a window pops up on the bottom right corner of your screen. Open a Chrome browser.
